Celebrating our one-year milestone of the ASME certification achievement

Wila A/S proudly marks the one-year anniversary of receiving the prestigious ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) certification.

This certification demonstrates our commitment to delivering top-quality and safe products. The milestone highlights a year of relentless standards and collaborative efforts to bring ASME-certified products to market, with the first orders set to ship this summer.

Commitment to Excellence

Achieving the ASME certification has been a transformative process for Wila A/S. Over the past year, we have dedicated countless hours to ensure compliance with the stringent ASME standards. This commitment has involved thorough design, strategic procurement of materials, and comprehensive third-party approvals, all essential in achieving the ASME certification.

Hjalmar Thorvaldsson, Responsible Charge

Key personnel for the implementation

The successful implementation and execution of the ASME standards at Wila A/S is a testament to the collaborative efforts of several key personnel:

Hjalmar Thorvaldsson, Responsible Charge: Hjalmar has overseen the design and approval process for the first ASME-certified orders. Hjalmar will also review the necessary approvals with the third party, who must approve them to meet the ASME standards. His expertise has been essential in navigating the complex regulations and ensuring that every design meets ASME’s strict criteria.

Brian Lomholt Jacobsen, Purchase Manager: Responsible for sourcing and procuring materials that comply with ASME standards, Brian has ensured that all necessary components meet the highest quality requirements before production begins.

Jacob Kristensen, Certified Welder: As one of Wila’s ASME-certified welders, Jacob has set up the welding process, ensuring that it is optimal and adheres to the ASME certification standards.

Tom Jensen, Welding Supervisor: Tom manages the quality and documentation team and oversees the handling of the ASME-certified orders, securing the entry control, welding process, and certifications. Therefore, Tom will also supervise every test made to ensure quality requirements.

The process leading to the first shipment

From acquiring the certification in May 2023 to handling the first customer-specific solutions, adhering to the ASME standards has involved many work hours within Wila. When receiving a specific inquiry from the customer, the design must be approved by a third party before production can start. Following the design approval, the procurement of ASME-compliant materials can begin and set the stage for production. With design and materials adhering to the certification, the welding will be performed by certified welders, ensuring that the products meet the stringent ASME standards.

Looking ahead

With the first ASME-certified orders scheduled to ship this summer, we are excited about this milestone’s opportunities. The ASME certification enhances the product range at Wila A/S and solidifies our position as a trusted supplier of high-quality heat exchangers and membrane housings.
