A Strong Presence Across Exhibitions

Over the past months, WILA has had the pleasure of meeting customers, partners, and industry peers at two important exhibitions: CheeseExpo 2026 in Milwaukee, USA, and IFAT 2026 in Munich, Germany. Both events provided a valuable platform for dialogue, knowledge sharing, and insight into the challenges and requirements shaping today’s process industries.

While the industries differ, the conversations highlighted a shared need for reliable, well-engineered, and properly documented stainless steel solutions, whether within hygienic processing in industries such as dairy, beverage, and pharma, as well as biogas and water treatment applications.

IFAT 2026 (Germany): Strong engagement in water treatment and filtration

IFAT Munich is widely recognised as the world’s leading trade fair for environmental technologies, bringing together professionals working within water, wastewater, and sustainable infrastructure. In 2026, the exhibition attracted around 142,000 visitors and approximately 3,400 exhibitors from around 60 countries, underlining its position as a key global meeting place for the industry.

At IFAT 2026, WILA exhibited as part of the Pavilion of Denmark, where the focus was on engaging with stakeholders involved in MF/UF/NF and RO filtration solutions for water and wastewater treatment. Throughout the exhibition, we experienced strong interest in our stainless steel solutions, particularly in components designed for filtration systems operating under demanding conditions.

Our participation exceeded expectations, with many relevant and technically grounded conversations. From the outset, it was clear that visitors were not only exploring new suppliers, but also actively seeking solutions for ongoing or upcoming projects. We have already received concrete enquiries following the exhibition, confirming that our solutions are both relevant and in demand within the market.

CheeseExpo 2026 (USA): Focus on sanitary design, compliance and safe production

CheeseExpo is one of the key meeting points for the dairy processing industry, bringing together professionals who work with sanitary design, safety, and production efficiency in food processing environments. CheeseExpo 2026 brought together more than 4,000 industry professionals, reflecting strong engagement across the dairy processing sector.

At CheeseExpo 2026, WILA engaged in discussions with customers and partners across dairy, process, and related industries, many of whom shared a strong focus on documented quality, compliance, and operational safety.

Certified and compliant solutions: At the core of safe production

At CheeseExpo, the importance of certified and compliant solutions was central to nearly every conversation. In sanitary applications within industries such as dairy, and in pharmaceutical-related applications, there is a clear and growing expectation that all process components are developed, manufactured, and documented in accordance with recognised standards.

For WILA, compliance is not an additional feature, but an integrated part of the engineering process. Selected solutions presented at CheeseExpo are available in accordance with ASME, CRN, and 3-A requirements, reflecting controlled engineering processes, qualified materials, validated fabrication methods, and independent oversight.

This level of documentation and traceability plays a critical role in industries where product safety, contamination control and consistent process performance are essential. During the exhibition, visitors consistently emphasised the importance of working with suppliers who can demonstrate not only technical capability, but also a structured and transparent approach to compliance.

The discussions confirmed that compliance today is closely linked to operational confidence. It supports the design of systems where performance, safety, and inspection requirements are clearly defined, and where risks are minimised throughout the lifecycle of the equipment.

Double tubesheet heat exchanger: Supporting sanitary and pharmaceutical requirements

Double Tubesheet Heat Exchanger - WILA

Another key topic at CheeseExpo was WILA’s Double tubesheet heat exchanger, which attracted particular attention from visitors working with critical hygienic and pharmaceutical applications. Surface finish Ra 0.5 µm electropolished or standard dairy Ra 0.8 µm.

Designed to prevent cross-contamination and support safe leak detection, this solution addresses applications where separation between media is essential, and where even minor leakage must be identified and handled in a controlled manner.

The interest in this solution reflects a broader development within the industry, where requirements from pharmaceutical environments increasingly influence expectations within food and dairy processing. In both areas, reliability, inspectability, and well-defined safety mechanisms are essential when selecting process equipment.

Continuing the dialogue beyond the exhibitions

Across both IFAT and CheeseExpo, the most valuable outcome was the opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions around real applications, technical requirements, and future projects.

We would like to thank everyone who visited our stand and contributed to these conversations. The exhibitions may have concluded, but the dialogue continues, and we look forward to supporting upcoming projects with engineered stainless steel solutions tailored to specific industry needs.

Perspectives from the exhibitions

Sales Manager Per Rasmussen at IFAT 2026

“We had a strong week at IFAT with genuinely relevant conversations. What stood out was how quickly discussions moved from general interest to more specific operating requirements, including materials, serviceability and long-term performance in filtration applications.”

Per Rasmussen, Sales Manager at WILA A/S

“Visitors arrived with very concrete questions, which made the dialogue particularly valuable. It confirms that there is a clear need for stainless steel solutions that combine robust long-term design with reliable performance also in water and wastewater applications.”
